Having experienced firsthand how fragmented the design and construction process can be, with architecture and interiors often developed in silos, designers Shelby Girard and Chris Carr created Girard House as a better way forward, one grounded in a clear, unified vision from the start.

Today, we guide renovations and new construction through an integrated, whole-home design approach that allows each layer to evolve together. The result is a more streamlined process, stronger decision-making, and a finished space that feels intentional, cohesive, and aligned with the way you live.

ABOUT US

Shelby Girard is an interior designer known for creating soulful, layered spaces that blend heritage character with modern comfort. Her work reflects a thoughtful balance of beauty and livability and has been featured in Architectural Digest, Domino, MyDomaine, and Martha Stewart. Prior to establishing her own design studio, she led creative vision for several beloved home and lifestyle brands, developing a broad industry perspective spanning brand building, product development, manufacturing, and the evolving ways people live in their spaces.

Chris Carr is a licensed architect whose experience spans residential architecture, real estate development, and construction. Having led architecture studios and design teams for prominent development firms, he brings a thoughtful, quality-driven perspective to complex residential projects. Through a thoughtful, holistic approach that brings together the architectural shell, interior experience, and building process, he creates homes where structure and detail exist in quiet alignment.
